Organic US-grown hemp

State-of-the-art CBD extraction process

1. Supercritical CO2 extraction

By exposing CO2 to high temperatures and high pressure, it acts as a safe solvent that is ideal for extracting CBD without damaging any other active compounds in the plant.

2. Chromatography

We use an advanced purification system developed by RotaChrom, called Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) to further remove impurities and THC. This allows us to offer a CBD oil with non-detectable amounts of THC (<0.01%, which is 20 times less than the legal limit).

3. Distillation

Distillation removes all unnecessary compounds left in the concentrate, while retaining other minor cannabinoids that can make CBD oil more effective through what is known as the "entourage effect". Once distilled, the oil contains between 90-95% CBD and at least 5% of other minor cannabinoids such as CBG, CBC and CBDA, making it more effective than isolated CBD.

You may ask, how is CBD oil made into an oil? We use organic MCT oil as a carrier oil for our CBD concentrate. Not only does it give our CBD oil a mild coconut flavour, but it also increases its bioavailability.

The pain can be mild and occur only after certain activities, such as exercise, or it can be more severe and constant.

Joint pain can affect any of the body’s joints, and more than one joint at a time. Joints commonly affected include shoulders, wrists, hands, hips, spine, knees and feet.

Who is more likely to suffer from joint pain?

Our chances of experiencing joint pain increase as we age. This is because our joints become more vulnerable to pain or inflammation after decades of use, and we are more likely to suffer from injuries and other medical conditions which can contribute to joint pain. Therefore, older adults and those with conditions such as arthritis, bursitis and fibromyalgia are more likely to suffer from joint pain.

In addition, people who repeatedly use a muscle, are overweight or suffer from stress are also more at risk of experiencing joint pain.

• Stiffness or pain when moving the joint

• Do not completely stop moving the joint

Joint Pain: Could CBD help?

While research on CBD is still in its infancy, early studies indicate that it could offer a wide range of potential benefits. A small number of studies have looked specifically at the effects of CBD on both pain and joint pain and found promising results; however, more human research is needed to confirm the initial findings.

How does CBD work?

CBD works by influencing the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a cell-signalling network that regulates vital processes and keeps the body in a balanced state (homeostasis).

CBD is thought to support the function of the ECS indirectly by preventing the breakdown of endocannabinoids – cannabinoids produced by the body which act as messengers in the ECS. By increasing endocannabinoid levels, CBD may help the ECS to regulate pain, inflammation and other processes more efficiently,  maintaining a healthy and balanced internal state.

CBD and pain

Preliminary research suggests that CBD could support pain relief. According to a 2018 review of research into CBD and pain, CBD regulates the perception of pain by affecting a range of receptors within the body. It also inhibits the uptake of anandamide, an endocannabinoid which is linked to increased pain tolerance.

CBD could support relief from arthritis and inflammation. In one animal study, CBD was applied to rats. By the end of the study, there were improvements in joint swelling and limb posture.
