Types of Mushrooms in our Tablets

Lion’s Mane: Is a functional mushroom, the fruiting bodies contain nootropic substances, erinacines and hericenones respectively. Studies have shown that Lion’s Mane has potential benefits that have been researched for their protective and restorative effects on brain and nerve tissue. (1, 2)

Reishi: This is one of the most researched mushrooms. Ganoderma lucidum or ‘reishi’ as it’s commonly called, has a long history of use in Asia to support health and longevity. Like other functional mushrooms, studies have shown that it has potential antioxidant and immune-supportive properties. As an adaptogenic mushroom, the benefits of reishi include hundreds of bioactive substances that could support the body’s homeostatic balance.(9)

Chaga: Chaga is a powerful ingredient. Inonotus obliquus or chaga grows on birch trees throughout the Northern Hemisphere. It has one of the highest levels of antioxidants which could potentially help the body combat free radicals and oxidative stress. The benefits of chaga mushrooms are in their adaptogenic and antioxidant capacities (7, 8).

Cordyceps: Cordyceps militaris is cultivated currently on grain, making this unique fungus much more accessible and available as a vegan product. Cordyceps contains adenosine, a building block of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which provides energy for cellular processes in the body. Cordyceps are commonly known as a functional mushroom which could be preferred by athletes for its support for endurance, stamina, and athletic performance. (3)

Maitake: Commonly called “king of mushrooms,” Grifola frondosa or maitake, is an edible mushroom native to North America, Europe, and Asia. Its woodsy flavour and characteristic aroma make it a welcome addition to warm, earthy recipes.

Tremella: Historically, in China, the Tremella mushroom is considered the “Fountain of Youth”. Recent research has shown that tremella mushrooms have neuroprotective effects.(4)

Shiitake mushrooms: These mushrooms are high in B vitamins, and they serve as a food source of vitamin D. Shiitake are rich in polysaccharides like lentinans and other beta-glucans, with research indicating that these compounds could potentially protect against cell damage and help your immune system.
